This service avoids the downsides of e-mail (poor security, address errors, spam, virus propagation, loss or 'disappearance' etc). Solicitors and clients can log on to their file from any browser at any location - home, office or away.

This service, whilst available to full law firms, is especially useful for solicitors working alone from home, as well as retired and semi-retired solicitors wishing to continue to advise in a less formal way than through a full office.

Please note that , whilst all offering advice files on this service are UK solicitors, not all may be currently in practice, that is to say they may not hold a current Practising Certificate. This does not mean they have been struck off or suspended but that they have chosen to not renew their Certificates. Usually this is because a solicitor has retired from practice. Solicitors are able to advise and do work in all fields save conveyancing, probate and litigation without a current Practising Certificate so long as they bring this fact to the attention of the client and the client is agreeable to instruct notwithstanding. Please ensure you know whether the solicitor advising you is or is not currently in practice.

Non-practising solicitors, such as retired solicitors, offer a wealth of experience and knowledge at a fee which, given they usually work from home with no overheads, that is a fraction of what otherwise you might be charged by a full solicitors practice. More expertise at less cost!
